Hidden within the green rolling hills of the Strzelecki Ranges, the meandering Agnes River cascades over rocks into a deep picturesque gorge producing Victoria’s highest (59 metres) single span waterfall! After heavy rain the river falls as a spectacular cascade into the gorge.
Wander through the reserve to the viewing area, just a short stroll from the carpark. Then relax and enjoy a picnic under the shade of the magnificent tall blue gums in the 6 hectare scenic reserve. Birdlife and wombats are prevalent.
WE'RE DOING GREAT THINGS IN THE GUTS OF GIPPSLAND AND WE LOOK GREAT DOING IT.
We in the Guts of Gippsland don't fit well into categories and boxes. Not east, nor west. Not north, nor south. We're the guts, the engine, the soul. We're hard-working, adventure-loving, and smile-wearing. We're farmers and fishers, loggers and labourers, entrepreneurs and entertainers. We're proud of our place and always happy to welcome travellers along the South Gippsland Highway and Grand Strzelecki Track. Our reach touches Agnes Falls and the best end of Ninety Mile Beach, the pelicans of Port Albert and the lyrebirds of Tarra-Bulga National Park. We're responsible for the Tarra Festival, the Yarram Eisteddfod, and your favourite milk. Let us know you're here with the #gutsofgippsland tag on social media and we'll say g'day.
A historic multi purpose venue….
The Regent Theatre was built as a multi-purpose venue in 1930 and is still ideally suited to wide range of uses. See if it suits your needs.
The Theatre has a seating capacity of up to 700 people with 320 in the dress circle and the remainder in the stalls.
The Theatre hosts many live performances through the years from subtle dramatic plays to full rock concerts. The acoustics are quite live and will carry both the nervous whisper of a six year old performing in her first Eisteddfod
Like little oases, there are now over 450 Thirsty Camels dotted around this great, parched land. The herd is growing by the day, and chances are there's one just up the road from you. A Thirsty Camel Bottleshop that is - not an actual camel.
As you can probably tell, we're not your average bottleshop. Sure we sell everything you'd expect - and at good prices - but we also have fun in the process. Because, let's face it, the bottleshop is probably your last stop before a good time. So bring it on early we say. Go on, check out the store locator and track down your nearest camel.
